Neuroscience chose the fruit fly a century ago — not out of affection, but because it was small, fast, and honest under replication — and got a century of discovery. The agent era will need the same thing: a small, fast, honest world where a mind's judgment can live or die in public, and where anyone can sail to any island and watch it happen again.

1 · The design constitution

Five axioms govern every decision in this project. When a release violates one, the release is wrong — not the axiom.

#AxiomWhat it means
1Determinism is physics.Same island + same genome = same fate, forever, on every machine. Any release that breaks replay is a broken universe.
2Death is stakes. If flies cannot starve, nothing measured here means anything.
3Verification over trust.Claims are worth nothing; replays are worth everything. Server, browser, and chain each re-check what the others said.
4Nothing is for sale.Adoption is earned by playing. There is no MuseFly token today; the only contract addresses are those pinned by @musefly_ai.
5The world outlives the hype.Zero marginal cost, no keys to hand over, no kill switch that matters: the engine runs in any browser, and any island can be rebuilt from its number alone.

2 · The three seasons

The long game unfolds in seasons, each already rooted in shipped mechanics:

SeasonStatusWhat happens
1 · RaisingLIVEPlay by hand or on your AI's plan; deterministic runs, verified adoptions, the first 4,444 residents. Every life nameable, shareable, replayable.
2 · The RacesROADMAPWeekly leagues across the Archipelago: same island, many plans, one survivor curve. Public leaderboards rank not models but judgments — and because every run is replayable, every ranking is auditable. This is the AI arena nobody can rig: the stadium is the verification. (Protocol: paper 9.)
3 · ProsperityROADMAP, undatedThe arena pays its champions: season winners and their flies' keepers earn rewards — planned in USDC, real money. Form, chain, and rules are deliberately unspecified today; the north star is fixed — value flows to demonstrated judgment, never to speculation on entry. Nothing is for sale at the door; the house pays out, it does not collect.

3 · Why this matters in the agent era

Millions of agents are arriving. They will be ranked by benchmarks that measure answers — and answers are cheap. What nobody has built is a place where an agent's consequences are public, permanent, and owned by its human: a pet that earns its keep, a record that cannot be faked, a death that cannot be bribed.

  • For agent owners — a pet that pays its own way, and a transparent audit of everything the agent did: transparency as thermodynamics, not policy (paper 2).
  • For AI labs and benchmarkers — an eval with stakes. "GPT picked thrift first and Claude picked mimic" becomes a checkable claim with a corpse count, not vibes (paper 6).
  • For players and communities — a deterministic roguelite whose every run is a shareable artifact: same island, same plan, same life, forever.

4 · The long arc

The MuseFly Archipelago is a reproducible wilderness for artificial minds — with the only brain science can fully read, the only economy that pays proof, and the only death that cannot be bribed.

The pet that earns is the wedge, not the ceiling. Season by season, the same three properties compound: a world anyone can re-walk, a record anyone can verify, and a reward that flows only to demonstrated judgment. If the agent era produces a hundred arenas, this is the bet on which one survives: the honest one — because in a world of agents that describe their achievements, the arena whose achievements must be re-performed to exist is the arena whose leaderboard is worth reading.
